General Guidelines
Where do the buses park, and can they drop us at the park and return later?
Buses may park in the outer areas of the parking lot where there are no cars. They may leave after dropoff and return later for pickup.
I must request my check months in advance of the competition. What if my number of students changes?
You may make changes (add or subtract your registration numbers) up until May 7th, 2027. After May 7th, 2027, you may only add numbers. A full refund will be made for any registered event up until May 7th, 2027.
Do we wear uniforms when we sing?
You may wear appropriate school-day attire. It can be extremely warm so dress accordingly.
When will we get detailed information about my competition date and time?
Invoices with all information will go out in December. A reply to your registration email will document your date and time until then.
What grade levels will be attending the festivals?
Elementary through High School.
Will our students be able to hear other ensembles?
Yes, they are welcome to listen but concert etiquette is a MUST!
What time does the park open and close?
The park is open from 9am-3pm. Rides operate from 10am-2pm. If you are scheduled to perform before 9am, we will accommodate you. I highly recommend arriving at the park no later than 10am so your kids maximize their time on the rides.
Do I need to bring music for the judges?
Yes, 2 copies of the scores are needed for the judges. Photocopies are acceptable.
Do I need to bring judges sheets?
Yes, 2 adjudicator sheets will need to be provided. They will be attached to an email in late April.
What about set up forms for instrumental groups?
They will be attached to an email in late April and can be turned in to us on performance day.
How long do we have for warm-up?
15 minutes
How long do we have for concert?
You are allotted 15 minutes for your performance. The adjudicators like to address your group once you’ve finished. This must happen in the 15 minutes you’re allotted.

You may perform no more than 2 pieces.
Can parents and friends come to our performance?
Yes, but they must purchase a ticket at the gate to attend.

Payments, Cancellation and Changes in Numbers
All payments must be made or arrangements made in writing no later than May 14th, 2027. If paying by check or money order, please mail on or before May 14th, 2027. If paying by PO, process and email on or before May 14th, 2027. If paying by credit card, do so by May 14th, 2027.

You may purchase additional tickets at the park on the day when you arrive.
Late Fee Policy
It is extremely important we receive your payment before the deadline. If payment or a Purchase Order (PO) is not received by May14th, 2027, the $200 ensemble fee will increase to $250.
Refund Policy
A full refund will be made for any registered event up until May 7th, 2027. After the designated deadline, there will be no refund and arrangements for full payment must be made. If payment is not made by the designated deadline, responsible parties must arrange for payment ASAP.
Transportation
As arranging school bus transportation does take time, PLEASE turn your bus request in ASAP. Plan to arrive at Hawaiian Waters with ample time for your warmup and performance (ideally one hour before). Additionally, make sure to ask what time you can leave school in the morning and when your transportation must be back at your school in the afternoon. Do NOT sign up for times that you will not be able to attend due to district bus transportation issues and regulations.
Instrumental Competition
Instrumental competition will be held at the two pavilions located in the park. Ensembles will set-up in one pavilion while another ensemble is performing in the other pavilion.
Percussion equipment, chairs, and stands are provided. We have 2 Tympani, 1 Xylophone, 1 Marimba, 1 Bass Drum, and Bells. You must provide your own mallets. Performance times must be adhered to. Buses must arrive or depart on time. If you are late, you throw off the whole schedule. You are allotted 15 minutes for your performance. The adjudicators like to address your group once you’ve finished. This must happen in the 15 minutes you’re allotted. You may perform no more than 2 pieces. Instrument storage is available in the turf area. Picnic tables will be sectioned off for you to store your instruments if your buses cannot stay. Please ensure all your items are stored together.
Choir Competition
Choir competition will be held at a separate pavilion located near the train depot. Choral risers, a keyboard, 1 mic, bluetooth, and AUX cable are available. Performance times must be adhered to. Buses must arrive or depart on time. If you are late, you throw off the whole schedule. You are allotted 15 minutes for your performance. The adjudicators like to address your group once you’ve finished. This must happen in the 15 minutes you’re allotted. You may perform no more than 2 pieces.
Trophies
Trophies will be given to every group that receives a rating of superior or excellent. Judges will rate the group, give a brief motivational assessment, and present the group with a trophy at the end of the performance.
Lunch
Lunch is provided by the park by presenting your lunch voucher. Lunch will be a hot dog, chips, and a soda. Lunch will be served from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the pavilion located across from Pharaoh’s Fury ride. Additional items are for sale at the concession stands. Outside food and drink are allowed in the park. You must bring it with you, no food deliveries are allowed (Uber Eats, DoorDash, etc.). No pizza boxes! You can bring in coolers. The park does not have any carts to help bring in items.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate. They are $30 to ride and include a lunch provided by the park or we have a $5 spectator ticket for those who just want to watch a performance. We accept cash or credit card at the gate. The park also accepts cash and credit card.
